We are currently exploring the possibility of building a transparent cafe/restaurant suspended in the trees on the north side on the church!!
Weddings at Shoreditch Church
To be married in the church at least one applicant must have some link with the parish area.
For EU citizens the normal procedure is for the publication of your names and your intention to marry. WE call this reading the banns. This must happen within three months of the wedding and is done in the parish church where both live.
You must normally be at least eighteen years old, not already married (bigamous) and not be closely related.
For a non EU citizen, it may be possible to be married not by reading banns but after the granting of a license.
To be married with a Common License the applicant must show:
Visa and not under Immigration Control
At least three months left on visa allowance
Alternative Visa with Fiancée or marriage visitor permit
Proof of residence
Proof of age
Declaration of freedom to marry (not already married)
Stage two. Appointment with legal officer (a surrogate) who will authorise the marriage.
